Leap Expands Colorado Manufacturing Capacity With New 75,600-Square-Foot Headquarters

BROOMFIELD, CO, Sept. 23, 2026 — LEAP (leapspace.one), a logistics company building a world where we can move goods anywhere on Earth or in orbit in minutes, today announced a major expansion of its Colorado operations with a new 75,600-square-foot manufacturing facility that will also serve as its headquarters in Broomfield.

Purpose-built for rapid prototyping and production, the facility will consolidate LEAP’s engineering, manufacturing, vehicle integration and corporate operations under one roof. It will move Bighorn, LEAP’s launch and logistics vehicle, from development into production at rate. Bighorn is designed to carry up to 250 kilograms to low Earth orbit and support rapid cargo delivery for commercial and national security missions. LEAP plans initial production of six Bighorn vehicles per year, with capacity to scale to two per month. The site will also support multiple Bullfrog vehicles, LEAP’s smaller suborbital platform used to flight-test hardware and operations. Full move-in is expected by March 2027.

“Space has a manufacturing problem,” said Chris Beckman, CEO of LEAP. “We know how to build remarkable vehicles. The challenge is building enough of them fast enough. This facility gives us the space to bring engineering, manufacturing and operations together and build the way we believe the industry needs to build: simple, repeatable and at scale.”

That production ramp builds on demonstrated hardware. In May, LEAP successfully flew Bullfrog, generating data across engine performance, ground equipment and mission operations that feed directly into Bighorn. Bringing both vehicle programs together in Broomfield will place engineers alongside the teams building and integrating their designs, shortening development cycles and establishing a repeatable production line.

The expansion also deepens LEAP’s investment in Colorado. LEAP has more than 50 employees today and expects its workforce to exceed 130 across its Broomfield headquarters and Colorado test operations by the end of 2027. That growth will create new opportunities across engineering, manufacturing, integration, test and business operations while expanding demand for Colorado suppliers and specialized aerospace talent.

“LEAP’s decision to expand its headquarters and manufacturing operations in Broomfield is a tremendous reflection of the talent, innovation and opportunity that define our community,” said Broomfield City and County Mayor Guyleen Castriotta. “Companies like LEAP are helping position Broomfield and Colorado at the forefront of the next generation of aerospace and space technology. We look forward to seeing this company continue to grow, create opportunity and build the future right here in Broomfield.”

The next phase of that growth will take shape in 2027 as LEAP builds out Bighorn production, prepares for full-vehicle hot-fire testing and continues Bullfrog flight operations.

Once the facility is fully operational, LEAP plans to welcome the Broomfield community for an open house.
