POWERED BY LEAP’S INNOVATIVE PROPULSION TECHNOLOGY 

LEAP's novel propulsion system combines a high thrust booster and high efficiency upper stage. Our engine technology simplifies space access, allowing a single stage vehicle to reach orbit, improving launch efficiency, reliability, and availability. This moderate pressure engine design is inherently scalable and can provide both tailored thrust profiles and performance to a wide variety of customer missions.

Our MVP sounding rocket, showcasing all of the scalable technology used in our future vehicles. Bullfrog is a fully reusable liquid propellant suborbital platform for atmospheric research, microgravity experimentation, and hypersonics testing, taking 50kg to 100km for 4 minutes of microgravity.

A rapid response, transportable, single stage  vehicle, Springbok provides dedicated launch at rideshare prices and is configurable for 1,000kg to LEO, 800kg to SSO, and 180kg to GEO while fitting inside a standard 53’ ISO container.

Our orbital transfer vehicle, with the flexibility to meet any mission requirement. Jackrabbit delivers up to 6,000 m/s delta-V and extends the capabilities of Springbok and other Venture Class launchers into high-energy orbits utilizing LEAP’s proprietary engine cycle.

The LEAP Timeline

2021

The Beginnings

LEAP developed the idea to simplify space access by using an powerful engine that could work in both the atmosphere and space, eliminating stages and reducing vehicle complexity.

2022

Concept Development

We committed to designing, building, and testing a subscale engine to prove our concept.

2023

Successful Subscale Engine Demonstration

We completed dozens of tests on this smaller engine, gathering the data we needed to confirm our ideas. NASA and AFRL validated our SSTO capability, and we entered into a CRADA with the US Air Force for our engine technology.

2024

Engine + Tank Demonstration and Operations Model

We won our first SBIR that helped us craft a flight-like engine and form our tanks, pushing our tech readiness up and sharpening our intellectual property by securing patents. Plus, we began integrating an AI-based operations model to streamline our missions.

2025

Full-Scale Engine

Demonstration & Suborbital Flight

We will ramp up our engine and vehicle tech flight readiness and complete our first of many suborbital launches with Bullfrog, taking our first customers into space. We will also start the initial build of our OTV, Jackrabbit.

2026

Pre-Production Prototype

Completion and ATP of all Springbok subsystems, as well as giving our prototype vehicle a shakeout before its first flight.

2027

Springbok First Launch

The big day arrives. We launch Springbok, the first true SSTO vehicle to prove our technology and being routine launch services.

2028+

Continued Pursuit 

Following onto LEAP's success with high cadence orbital and suborbital flights, we continue to push our vision in building our reusable spaceplane, the holy grail of spaceflight.
